The city of San Marino is housing of The Huntington Library and the museum, which contains largest and most complete 18th century art collections in California. The adjacent Botanical gardens are great place to spend whole day. Summer time concerts are great as well.
If you are interested in space the Edwin Hubble House Museum is located in San Marino as well. This National Historic Landmark now belong to the city was house of the American astronomer during 1925 and 1953, this house museum is great educational resource and
Lacy Park is a vast 30-acre expanse of lush green space in the middle of San Marino. Originally known as Wilson Lake, it is considered one of the city’s best kept secrets. This large park is home of San Marino Historical Society located in The Thurnher House, this building was build in 1929 and its open to visitors.
The Old Mill is the oldest commercial building in Southern California. Built in 1816, it served as a grist mill for Mission San Gabriel. Wonderful little piece of history check it out for a little bit of Southern California history. This is a great side trip to combine with visiting the Huntington Library.
