Duarte museum takes its name from Andres Duarte, a California who owned over 6,000 acres in the area in the 1850s. When United States took over California government increase taxes, and force Duarte to lose his land to the government.
This small but full of history museum is in non-descript building, but when you go inside you will be surprised with amount of historical stuff inside. The Duarte Historical Museum focuses on the history of Duarte.
